Many waders also appear to be moving through South Uist. Most noticeable were 2 Curlew Sandpipers, 5 Whimbrel, 54 Redshank and 36 Knot at Dalibrough. There were also 68 Black-tailed Godwits at Frobost this evening.

There would appear to be decent numbers of Curlew Sandpiper around at the moment. This adult was at Frobost with a further 3 at Dalibrough and 4 at Orasay

There have been several sightings of Osprey this year, the first being in May, so perhaps it was not so surprising to find one at Loch Hallan today.

Peter Potts, the original ringer of both birds has just emailed to say that the Redshank was seen this evening (8th July) at Farligton Marshes LNR where it was originally ringed. Amazing!
