Little Stint - Tony Marr
On 22nd John Wilson spotted a Red Kite at the Butt of Lewis that was later seen by Tony. A couple of days later the bird was over Loch Stiapavat. Perhaps surprisingly unusual nowadays on the Outer Hebrides given the success of the reintroduction programmes on the mainland - only some six documented records up until 2013.

Also at Ness Tony recorded a Little Stint today - on a pool a quarter of a mile west of the lighthouse.

Another recent sighting worthy of mention, this time on North Uist, was of an adult Long-tailed Skua at Clachan-a-Luib (Rob Fuller).
