Late records of Whimbrel and Wheatear.

Post by BrianR » 05 Nov 2015, 20:29

Today on North Uist there were single Whimbrel at two places and a Wheatear (probably Greenland). Not that unusual date for the last Wheatear but the latest for Whimbrel that I can find was on 26th October in 2007. There was also one that wintered (16th January and 12th March in 2000).

Yet another tardy Summer migrant. A late Wheatear was seen well at Ardvule this morning whilst I was carrying out an early Webs count.
