Black Kite on Benbecula

Post by BrianR » 26 May 2016, 18:12

Andy Robinson RSPB Senior Conservation Officer Argyll & Bute was recently shown some photos taken by a workmate of what appears to have been a Black Kite on Benbecula. The bird was at Kyles Flodda in the late morning of 12th May. See posting for details of a Black Kite that was seen on Lewis in late April.

I was told about this bird but at the time the observers insisted that it was a Marsh Harrier, despite me telling them how rare they are here. They said it was feeding on a dead lamb which I'd never put down to MH behavior so I thought they had mid identified a Buzzard. Wish they had shown me the pictures.
