Crane on Benbecula

Post by AndrewS » 05 Jun 2016, 22:25

The crane seems to have settled down in its wanderings and is spending a lot of its time at Borve machair at the SW end of Benbecula.

Also 2 knot at Stinky bay and a few painted ladies around.

cheers, Andrew

Presumably the same bird is now on North Uist. As I was driving past Druim Dubh, Paiblesgarry yesterday at 12.30 hours it briefly landed in an area of rough vegetation. I pulled in and got some record shots before it flew off in the direction of Loch Paible. This morning Donald Ewen rang to tell me it was on the Balranald machair before flying off to near Loch Paible. DE mentioned that it was doing a good job of scaring the geese.
