Tony reports that a Yellow-billed Cuckoo was found this morning in a South Dell garden. It was seen and photographed by a local resident David Greenhall and later identified by Dan Pointon. Tony also mentioned that the garden is very close to the one where the last sighting was made of the spring White-crowned Sparrow.

What an amazing year for North American passerines in the Outer Hebrides with now four different species, Black-billed Cuckoo along with the sparrow in the spring and Andrew's recent Swainson's Thrush. There were four different species in 2014 and several other years when three have been seen. I think the Isles of Scilly is the only other place to host the two cuckoos in the same year.
