Greenland White-fronted Geese

Post by BrianR » 29 Mar 2012, 21:10

For yesterdays count of Greenland White-fronts feeding and resting at Loch nam Feithean I must have missed some as a count of 102 today. Three with neck collars S7U, S6T and J3X. Steve Duffield read these three today plus SZU. Tony Fox has replied as follows 'S7U and S6T are female siblings hatched in summer 2007, they were associating with 3 adults (2 males S5U and S6U and an adult female that was presuambly the maternal parent SZU), Because of the association of siblings from previous years with parents, we cannot know which of S5U and S6U were older brother and father, as both were pretty robust and had extensive belly bars at capture. All three were caught at Wexford in March 2008. J3X was ringed as a 1st-winter male in December 2002 at Wexford'.
