Motion: Amendment of Constitution to remove Vice Chairperson as Committee Member.

Proposed changes: Changes are proposed to Articles of the adopted Constitution as follows (text to be deleted is in red, text to be inserted is underlined):

7.1 The committee will comprise of a minimum of the following four three members and a maximum of twelve members in total who will be appointed or elected at the AGM on the basis of nominations sought from members at said AGM:
• Chairperson
• Vice-chairperson
• Secretary
• Treasurer
8.1 The office bearers shall consist of a Chairperson, a Vice-chairperson, a Secretary and Treasurer plus any other office bearers who may be elected to assist the nominated office bearers to a maximum of 12.
9.5 At all meetings of the committee, the Chairperson or in his/her absence, the Vice-chairperson, shall take the chair.
9.6 In the absence of the Chairperson and Vice-chairperson, a member of the committee shall be appointed to conduct the meeting.

Reason: The role of Vice Chairperson has been vacant for some time, and following discussion at the previous AGM is considered to be redundant. There have been few (no) meetings, events etc. when a Curracag Committee Member has not been present, and in the absence of the Chairperson any other Committee member can be selected to stand in.

There was further discussion at the previous AGM about two Committee roles:

Website Editor - All present were in general agreement that now the Curracag website is up and running there was no need for the post-holder to be a Committee Member. This change does not require any change of, nor have any implications for the Constitution and was confirmed at that time.

Lewis & Harris Representative - It was agreed that a representative of the membership in Lewis & Harris would be invited to become a Committee Member. Again, no changes to the Constitution would be required. Therefore, we would be pleased to receive nominations for a representative for our members in the Lewis and Harris areas.
