Conserving Scottish Machair LIFE+ Advisory Officer
Based at RSPB Benbecula, Western Isles
Full Time Contract to 31st March 2014 - 37.5 hours per week
Salary Range £19,000 to £21,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity to work on a European funded project across Machair Croftland on the Hebrides. This contract is based in Benbecula, Western Isles and will run until 31 March 2014. Knowledge of the natural history and culture of the Hebridean islands is desirable.

As full-time Advisory Officer, you will negotiate and coordinate management agreements and advise on high nature value farming techniques working in tandem with the crofting community mid-way through the Conserving Scottish Machair LIFE+ Project on the Western Isles. You should possess good knowledge of biodiversity monitoring and data input and maintenance. The project is managed by The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in partnership with Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (CnES) and the Scottish Crofting Federation (SCF).

This project is part funded by the EU LIFE fund.
