Curracag Annual General Meeting

Post by christinej » 17 Jan 2013, 09:26

Dark Island Hotel, Benbecula - Tuesday 19 February 2013 - 7pm.
The agenda will comprise updates on progress of the Society over the year, plans for the coming year and the election of members to the committee. After the business meeting members are invited to stay and enjoy a social gathering.
Copies of the Accounts and Treasurer’s Report are available from the Treasurer (Ian Thompson “Suthainn”, Askernish, South Uist HS8 5SY, e-mail: treasurer@curracag.org.uk) or on-line in the Membership section on the Curracag website (http://www.curracag.org.uk/membership.html).
Members wishing to raise any business at the AGM are required to give written notice to the Chair (Tracey Begg, Bay Cottage, Upper Town, Carinish, North Uist HS6 5EH e-mail: pupeth@hebrides.net) prior to the meeting.
Election of Committee Members
Tracey Begg completes her term of office as Chair at the the AGM and nominations are required for this post. Curracag has developed considerably under Tracey’s leadership and we hope that someone will be prepared to continue to her work and provide the impetus and direction for us to continue to develop and grow. There are no specific duties for the Chair other than to report to the AGM and organise committee meetings as required So if you have ideas about the future of Curracag and would like to get involve why not give it a try. No previous experience is required just enthusiasm. Nominees do not have to be members of the committee or live in the Uists or Benbecula. If you would like more information please contact Tracey Begg or a member of the Curracag committee.
2013 is the Year of Natural Scotland and provides a tailor made opportunity for Curracag to promote its activities and the wildlife of the islands. Unfortunately we still do not have an Events Organiser. If you think that you could take on this role, even for a short period, please contact either Tracey Begg or Christine Johnson. If you would like to contribute but only have time to organise one or two events, your help would be appreciated.
We are also looking for a co-ordinator for the Annual Curracag Photographic Competition. Several people have offered to help, but we need someone to lead the team and get the project moving again. If you would like to help or require more information please contact Tracey Begg.

Hi everyone,
There will be entertainment after the AGM with a small quiz, (and prize), testing your identification of mystery natural history objects found on Uist. Some are common and others not so common!
Answers will be revealed after the AGM.
We hope to see you there.

7pm Dark Island Hotel, Benbecula - Tuesday 19 February
