Better than the Galapagos? Biodiversity of fish in the North Uist lochs

Andrew MacColl, Lecturer in Evolutionary Ecology, University of Nottingham

7pm, Thursday 16th May 2013 at the Dark Island Hotel, Lionacleit, Isle of Benbecula

Three-spined sticklebacks in the Uist lochs provide an outstanding example of how evolution can produce explosions of diversity on the tree of life, which biologists call adaptive radiations. In this talk Andrew will describe how this variation is helping us to understand evolution.
