Meadow Pipits

Post by virtualheb » 26 Aug 2013, 13:18

HI all

Just an observation really, we seem to be seeing lots of meadow pipits here in Balallan. I had been given to understand that meadow pipits werent as usual as the rock pipits, if I am identifying correctly, these are meadow pipit. Has anyone any thoughts or observations

Chris,
Meadow Pipits are very common on moorland & machair at the moment but they'll soon all be leaving for warmer climates for the winter. Rock Pipits are only relatively common on the coastal areas & stay with us all year.
