Big Butterfly Count

Post by Paul » 01 Aug 2014, 19:15

Did another count this afternoon once sun came out & had slightly fewer butterflies but still a good total:
Green-veined White 18, Meadow Brown 11, Small Tortoiseshell 1, Red Admiral 1, Dark Green Fritillary 1, Large White 1,
Then went further up the road to the west to confirm presence of Emerald Damselfly near loch fada na moine. And well done to Paul Ross for finding them.

Well done Paul Ross for the original record and Paul for the confirmation. This is the first record for the Uists since 1935, although there are records from Lewis from 2013.
