Plain Earthtongue

Post by chrisjohnson » 26 Aug 2014, 13:31

The OHBR meeting at Scotveinn last Sunday, hosted by Gwen and Peter, and led by the usual culprits, was very enjoyable.

The first Waxcaps and Pinkgills had appeared and the first Earth Tongue of the season. These are good indicators of unimproved grassland and OHBR would be grateful for any records. The attached image is typical of several species (black and about 7cm tall); they are not easy to identify to species level without a microscope but just knowing the distribution of the genus would be valuable data.
