Green-winged Teal and Yellow-browed Warbler on North Uist

Post by BrianR » 24 Nov 2016, 17:30

This morning there was a ♂ Green-winged Teal on Loch Grogary and yesterdays Yellow-browed Warbler in Carinish was still present having moved a short distance to another garden. As far as I'm aware this is the latest ever for the Outer Hebrides.

The Yellow-browed Warbler was again in our garden on Sunday.

Also over the weekend there was a nice flock of 37 Snow Buntings on Baleshare beach.

The American Coot remains on Loch nam Feithean and a juvenile Glaucous Gull flew SW past Aird an Rùnair during a brief seawatch this morning.

A Chiffchaff has been present here in Askernish the past few days and a Green-winged Teal has been seen at the north end of Loch Bee
